Exigent Circumstances Request
For use by law enforcement agencies and emergency call centers in exigent matters only — where there is an immediate threat of death or serious bodily injury.
This request path is reserved for law enforcement submitting an exigent circumstance request only. By submitting, the requesting officer certifies to the following:
- The request pertains to circumstances representing an immediate threat of death or serious bodily injury, for which your agency lacks sufficient time to obtain a subpoena, court order, or other legal demand.
- Your agency will provide a formal Legal Demand to DIPVTEL as soon as possible after receiving our response.
- You are authorized to make this request and to commit your agency to later provide the Legal Demand.
- The information provided is true and correct.
DIPVTEL and its affiliates are primarily wholesale communications providers to other service providers, carriers and resellers — we generally do not hold end-user or subscriber information on file. In most cases, we can only provide the name and contact information of our wholesale customer; you must then contact that customer directly for end-user information. Please note DIPVTEL is not able to perform a GPS ping on a cell phone. Exigent circumstance requests are monitored daily.
