Pre-Sale FAQ's
Straight answers about wholesale toll-free, RespOrg services, number management, porting, and legal compliance — before you sign up.
Wholesale toll-free service is bulk-rate toll-free call origination that DIPVTEL sells to resellers, carriers, and businesses at a lower cost than retail carrier pricing. We route your calls across the top 3 US carriers (AT&T, Verizon, CenturyLink) through 2 redundant gateways for 99.9%+ uptime.
Most new toll-free numbers can be reserved and activated the same day through our NMS platform. Number porting from another provider typically takes 2–4 business days.
Yes. Our white-label reseller program lets you resell our infrastructure under your own brand while we handle the carrier relationships, routing, and regulatory compliance behind the scenes.
A RespOrg (Responsible Organization) manages the routing record for toll-free numbers in the SOMOS SMS/800 database, enabling multi-carrier least-cost routing plans. DIPVTEL is registered to act as a RespOrg for its customers.
Yes. You can manage your own RespOrg relationship, or let DIPVTEL manage routing for you — both options are supported depending on your technical resources.
As your RespOrg, DIPVTEL builds routing plans across multiple carriers so calls automatically route to whichever carrier offers the lowest cost for that specific number and calling pattern.
The NMS (Number Management System) is our proprietary self-service platform that lets customers search, reserve, provision, and activate their own toll-free numbers without waiting on a support ticket.
No. The NMS is built to be user-friendly for customer-controlled provisioning, and our support team is available to walk you through setup at any time.
NMS access is included as part of your DIPVTEL service — reach out to our team for current plan details tailored to your call volume.
No. There is no charge to port your number into the DIPVTEL system, and the process typically completes within 2–4 business days for most residential and small business numbers.
Yes. As long as your new provider supports number porting, you can take your number with you when you leave DIPVTEL.
Once your port completes through your new provider, email support@dipvtel.com or open a service ticket to cancel your DIPVTEL service — until canceled, you remain responsible for associated charges.
DIPVTEL equipment and services follow FCC E911 regulations under 47 CFR Part 9, Subpart D for interconnected VoIP providers, but 911 dialing may differ from traditional wireline service — see our E911 Regulations page for full details.
