Understanding RespOrg IDs
A RespOrg ID is the 4-character alphanumeric code that identifies which Responsible Organization controls the routing record for a given toll-free number in the SOMOS SMS/800 database. Every active toll-free number in the US is associated with exactly one RespOrg ID at a time.
Because RespOrg assignments change frequently as numbers are ported between carriers and resellers, the authoritative, real-time list of RespOrg IDs is maintained directly by SOMOS — the FCC-designated toll-free number administrator — rather than published as a static list on carrier websites.
